The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and The UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing (CAP Code) jointly “consider a competition to be a promotion in which prizes are allocated based on skill. Promotions for which no skill or knowledge is necessary should not be described as a competition or otherwise imply that anything but chance is involved.” (Source)
